Franceta has a fresh, sure style that is an immediate draw for those who comes across her blog Frantic Dreams. Between fashion school exams, the aspiring designer gave Mavens & Muses insight into mood dressing and staying true to her playfully classic aesthetic.
What inspired you to start blogging?
Oddly enough, I started blogging on a whim. I began my blog as a place to write about my dreams and aspirations of one day becoming a designer, but I quickly realized that writing was NOT my fortay, and that fashion & personal style were topics I loved to cover.
How would you describe your personal style?
In three words; eclectic, classic & basic. I’ve got some crazy items of clothing but there is nothing I enjoy more than classic pieces with an unusual, stand out element… And you cannot go wrong with great basics!
Have your studies in design influenced your style or changed the way you look at fashion?
Oh God yes! It is extremely challenging to maintain memorable style, let alone produce a single original outfit while surrounded by 300 other design students… Trust me, it’s near impossible. I mean, we’re all there for the same reason, to stand out and be the next name in fashion! I’m learning that you don’t need to be over the top crazy with your choices to have memorable personal style. You just have to stay focused to your own aesthetic and tune out what others are doing.

What inspires your daily fashion choices?
My mood! When I wake up, I grab whatever feels right, and go with it. I wear quite a bit of black, sometimes way to much, but my mood will determine what accessories I wear, the colour of my lipstick, even my hair-do!
What items are on heavy rotation in your current wardrobe?
I think everything I own is on a rotation, haha! To narrow it down, I’d say my quilted leather jacket, neon satchel, oversized black sunnies, denim dress, black Tripp skinny jeans (the holy grail of plus size skinny jeans!) and this chunky black knit pull over from ASOS have all been abused over the last few months! I really do need to start buying doubles…
What is on your fashion wishlist for spring?
I’m a new-comer to these tropical & floral trends, but I would love a perfect pair of floral trousers; Preferably in a black & white print. I’m also a little ashamed to say that I am excited about pastels… more excitement than shame, I promise.
Thanks Franceta! Keep with up this muse’s stylish adventures on her blog Frantic Dreams.
